On June 24, 1997 Vanessa Williams released her first single “Happiness”, which was from her 5th album “Next.” The song was produced, and written by James Harris III and Terry Lewis respectively known as “Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.” They sampled the group “Nu Shooz” (86) classic “I can’t wait.” This gave the song a funky vibe, and edge. Vanessa herself was coming out of a marriage, and starting a new single life. The song was heavily reflective of that, and is an inspiration to anyone moving forward. It is my inspiring song for the day, hopefully it will inspire you as well.
